Departure from Frankfurt/Main at around 9:40 a.m., arranged transatlantic flight via Paris (or Amsterdam) to Panama City, arrival at around 19:15 p.m. local time. After you have collected your luggage, a Frobeen Erlebnisreisen/Frobeen Travel representative will be at the airport exit (please look for a sign with the Frobeen logo and your last name). A member of staff will drive you to our Paitilla Inn hotel. Time to move into your room. Brief meeting with Christian Frobeen to discuss the program the next day, followed by an overnight stay in Panama City. (meals on the plane)

Tag 2: Panama-City (Citytour & Welcome party)

In the morning there is a very interesting city tour in the wonderful old town of Panama City.

 

 

There is one in the evening Welcome Party with all participants at Hotel Paitilla Inn. (Please pay for the drinks yourself!)

Tag 3: Besuch eines Embera-Indianer Stamms (Ganztagestour ab/an Panama-City)

 

 

Drive to Chagres National Park. Here we board traditional Indian dugout canoes and cruise along the Chagres River to a waterfall in the rainforest (opportunity to swim at a waterfall: bring swimwear!). Afterwards we go by boat to the village of Embera. In the village we will have a traditional meal and learn about Embera culture and customs, such as handicrafts and dances. Then return to Panama City. Overnight again at the Paitilla In Hotel in Panama City. (B/L/-) L = Lunch = typical Indian snack

Entry into Chagres National Park currently. USD 5 per person, Embera Community currently USD 30 per person (These fees are included in the tour price!)

Note: By visiting the Embera Indians we are supporting the construction of a school and a solar system for the Embera Indians is being financed!

 

Tag 4: Tierbeobachtung auf Monkey Island im Gatún-See und Besuch des Panamakanals

A fascinating day trip where we see the ships in the Panama Canal up close and learn about the tropical rainforests and wildlife of the Panama Canal.

Drive from Panama City to Gamboa. Boat trip in the Gatun reservoir, with our boat we pass very close to the huge ships that cross the Panama Canal. Tropical rainforest covers the entire area and we stop at a few small islands where capuchin, howler and Geoffroy's monkeys live in the wild. We observe wild monkeys up close and we can experience unforgettable moments.

Overnight again at the “base hotel” Paitilla Inn in Panama City. (F/-/-)

 

Tag 5: Panama City - Guna Yala (San Blas Inseln)

Transfer to the small Albrook Airport in Panama City. Flight (departure time approx. 13 p.m.) with a chartered Kodiak aircraft (approx. 40 minutes flight time) to the San Blas Islands (Isla Corazon de Jesus)

Transfer to our three-star catamaran around 14:00 p.m. The San Blas Islands are among the most colorful and beautiful regions of the country. Wonderful hours on the catamaran are waiting for you. You will stop at some islands where you can relax, snorkel or swim. Among other things, you will visit the villages of the Kuna. The Kuna are among the original cultures of America, which were hardly touched by the colonial era and its consequences. Here you will encounter centuries-old traditions and lifestyles. Important note: The approximately 365 San Blas Islands are protected by reefs, so that there is minimal swell to zero swell.

Tag 12 : Panama-City vormittags frei, nachmittags Rückflug nach Europa

Nach einem geruhsamen Frühstück steht der Vormittag und frühe Nachmittag z.B. zum Shoppen zur freien Verfügung.  Im Laufe des späten Nachmittags erfolgt der Transfer vom Hotel Paitilla zum internationalen Flughafen (PTY) in Panama-City. Adios Panama & San Blas! Eine Traumreise geht zu Ende! Es erfolgt der Heimflug (Nachtflug)  (F/-/-) Mahlzeiten im Flugzeug

Note: If the hotel is fully booked, an equivalent hotel will be booked. If a sailing catamaran is not available at short notice, an equivalent sailing catamaran will be booked. The allocation to the sailing catamarans takes place after receipt of the booking. The size of the catamaran or the two catamarans depends on the number of bookings. Due to the low land weight on Isla Corazón, the group will probably have to be split into two propeller planes. Maximum luggage weight for propeller plane flights pp 10 kilos = 22 pounds (the rest of the luggage must be deposited at the hotel in Panama City). The propeller planes are simple and have reliable pilots.

Geography: Panama is located between Costa Rica and Colombia and forms the link between Central and South America. The narrow isthmus has long stretches of coastline on both the Pacific and Caribbean Seas.

MONEY:
The official currency in Panama is the US dollar, but there is also the local currency "Balboa", which is only available in coin form and is always a 1:1 dollar equivalent.

ELECTRICITY:
Also the sockets in Panama are the same as in the USA, the voltage is different than in Germany, e.g. B. at 110V, check the information on your devices.

CLIMATE:
With the exception of particularly high-altitude regions, Panama is tropically warm and humid year-round. The rainy season lasts from around the end of April to November, while the dry season prevails in the main travel season between December and March/mid-April. In the rainy season it rains between one and three hours a day on average and a visit is just as possible as in the dry season.

LANGUAGE:
The main language spoken in Panama is Spanish. In general, you can get along well with English in Panama City or tourist strongholds such as Bocas del Toro, but it is advisable to know at least a few sentences in Spanish, especially since this is very much appreciated by the Panamanians.

ENTRY:
Visa-free entry to Panama is possible with an American, British, German, Austrian or Swiss passport if you intend to stay for 90 days or less. As a rule, a valid exit ticket must be presented upon entry.
