Sacha Lodge

Every year the Swiss owner buys a piece of land to enlarge his private protected area in order to protect the region's beautiful rainforest from civilization. In the middle of this species-rich region is his Sacha Lodge, which offers a really fantastic atmosphere, away from stress and hectic. A very reliably functioning program based on "Swiss workmanship".

You have two jungle programs from / to Quito to choose from, either 4 days (Friday to Monday) or 5 days (Monday to Friday).

 

 

Sacha Lodge arrival

The jungle city of Coca on the banks of the Rio Napo can be reached in about 45 minutes by plane from Quito. From there, motor canoes are about 60 km down the Rio Napo. After approx. 2 1/2 hours you reach an approx. 800 m long wooden walkway that leads from the bank of the Rio Napo to a jungle lake (luggage transport). There Indian canoe guides receive the guests in order to cross the approx. 500 m wide lake with them. The silent canoe trip (by paddle) leads between floating islands made of water plants to the jetty of the Sacha Lodge. - / LB / A

 

Sacha Lodge

Here, at the idyllic Pilchicocha lagoon, the flora and fauna are still completely original. Over 500 species of birds, some of which are extremely rare, butterflies, armadillos, approx. 14 species of monkeys, almost 4.000 species of fish, numerous amphibians, such as small crocodiles, as well as approx. 15.000 different species of plants make the jungle experience unforgettable! Indian scouts have opened up about 20 different nature trails. The tour group is divided into subgroups of approx. 4-5 people who undertake various excursions, led by trained Indians in English. Among other things, there is a nature trail that leads the jungle guests to a 40 m high stand, which is located in the treetop of a giant jungle. The panorama is breathtaking! Back at the lodge, after the numerous impressions, you can enjoy the wonderful tranquility of the "Pilchicocha lagoon".

 

 

Comfortable bungalows that have a toilet and shower with hot and cold water give visitors the comfort they need when they return from the jungle. The full board is excellent. The lodge has a cozy common room and a bar with an exotic interior. Here you can play cards in the evening by candlelight or browse through a good book and enjoy the "jungle romance".
