Liana Lodge

Description

This lodge is characterized in particular by individual care and a very familiar atmosphere.

The quite new Liana Lodge is located in the middle of the primary forest at the confluence of the Rio Arajunos in the Rio Napo and can only be reached by canoe. It is part of the "Selva Viva" rainforest protection project, which also includes the "amaZOOnico" animal rescue station with around 100 wild animals. You can gain insight into these projects at any time and, for example, enjoy close contact with the animals living in the wild.

The lodge consists of a round, palm-leaf-roofed central building with a restaurant and bar. The guests are accommodated in 6 rustic cabañas - the typical bungalows - which have their own bathroom (hot water) and a large terrace with a wonderful view of the river.

We recommend the following 4-day jungle program from / to Quito

Liana Lodge - Day 1

A varied 6-hour bus ride takes you from Quito via Papallacta to the Liana Lodge, with the last 3 kilometers covered in a motorized dugout canoe. After the welcome drink, you can relax in the hammock of your cabaña or explore the surrounding area. The Rio Arajuno invites you to swim and dugouts wait for daring passengers who have fun trying the "balancing act" with a paddle. - / - / A

Liana Lodge 2-3. Day

You should definitely not miss the day tour through the primary forest with an Native American plant expert. Bird lovers (around 500 species of birds) can set off at sunrise, while others begin after a rich breakfast buffet. The guided tour to the "amaZOOnico" is one of the highlights: Here you can experience up to 6 species of monkeys up close, most of them living freely in the trees. Coatis, tapirs, parrots, peccaries, wrapped bears and many other animals also live here.

The owners of the lodge are a German-Indian couple. Remigio Canelos likes to take visitors into his family, where you can watch the preparation of the chicha (corn beer) and learn how to blowpipe. Basically, the jungle guests can choose between a more or less intensive excursion program, so that leisure is not neglected either. F / LB / A
