Very close to Casa Marceillino is the Cahuita National Park with beautiful beaches.
The Jaguar Rescue Center, which we will visit, is about a 32-minute drive from our hostel.
The Jaguar Rescue Center (Jaguar Rescue Center, short: JRC) is an animal rescue center near Puerto Viejo de Talamanca in the province of Limon on the east coast (Caribbean). EntryA stamp for Panama must be placed in your passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months after leaving Panama. We then arrive in Almirante (Panama), the capital of the Almirante District in the Bocas del Toro Province in the Republic of Panama. Its name is Spanish for Admiral. Almirante was built in the early 20th century by the United Fruit Company as a port for its banana exports. The area consisted of landfills on swamps; it housed the UFCO headquarters until 1970. The first settlers were mainly Black Jamaicans and the Lesser Antilles, who worked on the banana plantations in the early 1900s. Due to the importance of the port of Almirante, it also attracted Chinese, Hindu, and Jewish merchants in the early 1950s. Since 2002, there has been a massive migration of Chinese to the entire province, so it is normal to see them in their shops. Almirante was hit by a strong earthquake on April 22, 1991, and most of the wooden houses were destroyed, so the government decided to build new houses on the outskirts of the city.
Important: There is no decent hotel in Almirante, so we stay at the rustic, simple Bocas Ridge Hotel, which is located on a mountain just outside of Almirante.
If you don't wish to continue your trip to Panama, a private transfer (minibus) from Cahuita to San José will take place on March 29.03.26, XNUMX. Great view!
Our boatswain caught a tuna... which will be served freshly fried for dinner this evening!
Unique water, like in paradise!
As a tour operator, I have never personally experienced such a paradisiacal atmosphere... and I've traveled a lot...
The Kuna Indians live in huts on the 365 San Blas Islands; there are no "concrete bunkers" on these islets... and the Kuna Indians offer us their goods.
Found a nice, colorful shirt!
Today we are not eating lobster or fish, but rather delicious grilled meat and a delicious, cold white wine!
We visit another island with a cute bar.
The last wonderful evening in paradise is upon us, ...it's time to say "Adios" to these unique islands...

Note: If a hotel cannot be confirmed, we will book an alternative hotel in consultation with you. The hotels have been carefully selected. Costa Rica and Panama are emerging economies, and the standard of the hotels and hostels ranges from basic to comfortable. The San Blas Islands have the status of a developing country with very basic conditions but beautiful natural beauty.
Our terms and conditions apply, see https://www.frobeen.de/agb
Note: If the hotel is fully booked, an equivalent hotel will be booked. If a sailing catamaran is not available at short notice, an equivalent sailing catamaran will be booked. The allocation to the sailing catamarans takes place after receipt of the booking. The size of the catamaran or the two catamarans depends on the number of bookings. Due to the low land weight on Isla Corazón, the group will probably have to be split into two propeller planes. Maximum luggage weight for propeller plane flights pp 12 kilos = 26,5 pounds (the rest of the luggage must be deposited at the hotel in Panama City). The propeller planes are simple and have reliable pilots.
